Alpha/community · Led directly by former hedge fund manager Brendan Walsh

Decide what deserves your capital.

Turn market views and investment ideas into better decisions across trades, themes and your wider portfolio.

Led directly by former fund manager Brendan Walsh, Alpha combines a serious investment community with a practical system for deciding what matters, how much risk to take and where an idea belongs.

How Alpha works

Two parts. One connected process.

Alpha/community

Your investment team.

Direct access. Serious discussion. Better decisions.

Follow Brendan's thinking as markets move, ask questions directly, test ideas and assumptions, and debate opportunities with other serious investors.

Alpha OS

Your investing operating system.

Understand. Decide. Size. Act. Review.

Turn market context and ideas into decisions, risk, action and review.

Better decisions need both: people to challenge your thinking and a system to turn conviction into action.

Capped at 100 members.

Approximately 50% full. The cap means Brendan can participate directly, discussion stays useful and members know who they are talking to—not an anonymous financial chat room.

Latest relevant calls inside Alpha · 12–25 August 2026

Recent work inside Alpha.

Alpha is not a collection of static courses or alerts. Members work through live markets together, first establishing the market context and then turning that view into research, tactical ideas and medium-term portfolio decisions.

01 / Markets & Macro · 25 August 2026

Read the market.

Semiconductor weakness was concentrated rather than broad contagion. Treasury's larger buyback capacity was a policy signal—not QE—and the real liquidity test is whether the TGA is actually drawn without replacement issuance.

02 / Ideas & Tactics · 12 August 2026

Build the idea.

The session moved from a defined ETF universe through portfolio roles and shortlisting, then introduced Alpha OS as a daily operating system where market context comes before Trade, Review, Research or Learn.

CURRENT MODEL SNAPSHOT · 26 AUGUST 2026

Three models. Three different jobs.

Aggressive accepts more path risk in pursuit of return. Balanced spreads the work across cash, diversifiers and global equity exposure. Defensive prioritises capital stability and optionality. SPY is shown as a common market reference, not as the mandate benchmark for all three portfolios.

Aggressive

The return-seeking model.

The current mix combines thematic exposure, energy, uranium, defence, managed futures and cash optionality.

Balanced Alpha model summary dated 26 August 2026Enlarge evidence

Balanced

The all-weather model.

Cash, gold, managed futures, global income and selective equity exposures share the work.

Defensive Alpha model summary dated 26 August 2026Enlarge evidence

Defensive

The capital-stability model.

Short-duration sovereign debt, inflation protection, minimum-volatility and quality exposure dominate.

Hypothetical model performance, not member or client returns. Based on the attached Koyfin adjusted-close exports and shown gross of fees, taxes and trading costs. Displayed period: 26 August 2025 to 25 August 2026. The 26 August 2026 model observations were blank and excluded. SPY is a common reference, not necessarily the appropriate benchmark for every model. Past or model performance does not predict future results.

Start with the market.

What kind of market am I operating in?

Alpha OS brings together the signals needed to establish context before taking risk: market posture, trend, breadth, volatility, leadership, macro regime and correlation, alongside the House View and model portfolios.

See the regime, the risks and what is changing before deciding whether anything deserves your capital.

Choose where to work.

Market context does not force activity. It tells you where to focus—or whether to act at all.

Alpha is deliberately small. The core Alpha/community membership gives you the full weekly working environment. Add one private call a month when you want the process applied more directly to your own portfolio, decisions and habits.

The aim is not to rent somebody else's conviction. It is to become better at forming and managing your own.

Tell Brendan what you want to improve.

Alpha is application-led because the working group is deliberately small. The first step is short: enough context to understand where you are, what support you want and whether Alpha is likely to fit.

Before you apply

The useful objections.

If one of these answers makes Alpha wrong for you, that is useful information too.

Is Alpha a signal or trade-alert service?

No. Ideas are discussed, but the point is to understand the context, instrument, size, portfolio fit, risk and invalidation. You remain responsible for every decision.

Will Brendan or Alpha manage my money?

No. Alpha provides education, community discussion and decision-support tools. It does not provide discretionary management, personalised advice or trade execution.

Do I need to be an options trader?

No. Alpha works across tactical trades and medium-term portfolios. Options are one implementation tool, not the product and not a requirement.

Is this for complete beginners?

Alpha is best for self-directed investors who already know some market or investment theory and want a more complete, repeatable process. It is not designed for people looking for guaranteed returns or instructions to copy blindly.

What happens if I miss a live session?

Sessions are recorded, summarised and connected to the ongoing member discussion. You can use the archive and follow-up work without pretending attendance is a moral virtue.
